Current Commissioner's Note:
April 3 , 8:55 PM - And Florida (along with Erin) wins! The final standings are up are I'll be passing around the prizes soon. Thanks everyone for playing this year and good luck next time!
ARCHIVED NOTES:
March 31, 11:01 PM - So it's Ohio State and Florida for the Final Game. Will it be Erin or Lindsay to go all the way?
If Florida Wins it will be: 1st - Erin, 2nd - MattB, and 3rd - Lindsay
If Ohio State Wins it will be: 1st Lindsay, 2nd - Erin, 3rd - Kevin
It looks like either way, Erin & Lindsay are getting a prize; its only how much that matters!
Now, I only do this because Lynn asked if she set a new record for low score. Well, I hate to break it to her, but with her correct pick of Ohio State in the Final Game, her previous low score of 31 shot past the previous low score record. Without further ado here is the low score break down of all my previous tourney's:
The Quinn Bracket All-Time Low Scores
2003: Trippeer with 44 points
2004: Neil with 58 points
2005: Jon Z & Erin tied with 53 points (using the Tie breaker rules, Erin comes in last!)
2006:
Katie with 40 points
2007: Lynn with 43 points
Go ahead and relive all the old scores (and see what all this talk of "floating heads" is all about):

So hang in there Lynn, maybe in two years you'll be in contention for first like Erin!
March 25, 9:59 PM - Sorry for the lack of updates, but I have been fighting router problems all weekend. While there has been a lot of shifts at the bottom of the heap, the top three remain unchanged. Erin comes off with a sweep of the Final Four! Not that many points seperate our top three and they all have different National champs that can catapult them to first. To sum up:
Florida Champ = Erin wins 1st
Ohio State Champ = Lindsay wins 1st
Georgetown Champ = Michelle wins 1st
March 23, 7:47 PM - First day of the Sweet 16 updated: Erin hold onto her lead. After tonight, the predictions can begin...
March 18, 10:07 PM - All updates for Round 2: Erin has kept her lead, but Lindsay is right on her tail. MattB has cracked the top three to threaten the all female sweep. Erin's near flawless second round has been her key to success.
March 18, 12:27 AM - Updated for Day 1 of Round 2, on time (thank you very much Brian!), and we have a new leader! Erin has surge to 1st place with her flawless picks today! Iwaniw's place may be trouble with his loss of a Final Four pick. Can Erin hold onto her lead tomorrow? Stay Tuned!
March 17, 2:39 PM -All the updates for Round 1 are up. Looks like its was Ladies' night for the Big Dance, given 4 of the top 5 players. Can they hold onto the lead? Only time can tell.
March 16, 10:40 PM -Well, I seem incapable of getting any of the upsets right, so I'm happily taking up position at the bottom. I just hoping for a Deanna-like resurgence. Luckily all the Final Four picks are holding nicely. Althought the Wisc game gave a mini-panic as Chris was the only person to take Texas A&M CC. That 13 point jump may have given him a early lead. Luckily (well not for him) things worked out.
March 16, 4:35 PM - Alright, I got a bit sidetacked last night, so here is the update through day 1. I'll be working to finish tonight's updates on time, promise!
All I have to say so far, is where are all the upsets? Of course I complain because I missed the only big one so far with VCU over Duke! This does already knock out a Final Four pick on the first day! It still doesn't break the record for losing your National Champ in the 1st Round!
Iwaniw is out to an early lead with a near flawless first day. Let's hope the trend set last year of the 1st place player never falling out doesn't stick!
March 15, 7:35 PM - Game on! It looks like things are off to a good start! Stay tuned for more updates through the night. I'm still tweaking the layout of the site a bit. The witty comments will start later...
We have 21 total participants, so the prizes will breakdown like so:
1st = $80
2nd = $20
3rd = $5
March 12, 5:55 PM - Alright its that time again! I slightly
slacked off this year and didn't have everything ready on Sunday like I wanted, but everything is ready now. Again, this year you have two
options for signing up. Either continue to give me a printed bracket
with your choices, or you can complete the excel version and email
it to me.
I prefer the excel one because I have written an excel VBA program
to do the scoring for me, but either way will suffice.
Just make sure to get me your bracket before the tip-off of the
first game on Thursday!
